Honey Tye Farm’s fresh fruit is now being stocked at 21 East of England Co-Op shops.
The Farm, which has been family owned and run for over three generations, is currently supplying strawberries and rhubarb to stores in the Essex and Suffolk area with plans for more varieties of produce to come.
Run by the Peake family, Honey Tye is one of the best and most sustainable horticultural farms in the UK, utilising the latest fruit varieties and growing practices from around the world, while staying true to its traditional farming techniques. The Farm’s strawberries and rhubarb are grown using a variety of techniques including glasshouses (which are heated using woodchip from the company’s own local and sustainable wood sources), and floricane, primocane and long cane production to ensure only the very highest quality.
Honey Tye’s produce is delivered direct to stores, ensuring that customers get the freshest fruit available. In most cases, the fruit is picked, packed and in stores at least one, if not two, days quicker than the typical fruit found in shops or at the market.
The partnership between Honey Tye and East of England Co-Op forms part of the supermarket chain’s award-winning Sourced Locally initiative, which works with over 100 supplier partners who stock shops with over 3,500 different products from fruit and vegetables, to meat, fish, pies, and fruit juice.
